Description
7 GRAND DAD (better known simply as “Grand Dad”) is an infamous bootleg game supposedly made in 1992. It is a bootleg of the Nintendo Entertainment System game The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino and Hoppy. The game received popularity due to it being a comedic bootleg, which caused it to be a recurring joke on Vinesauce Joel streams, and later GiIvaSunner videos.
Information regarding the origin of Grand Dad is sparse and relatively unknown. It is known that Grand Dad itself originated in “Dian Shi Ma Li,” (Television Mari) an unlicensed Famicom game released in Taiwan around 1989. Later in 1992, an unrelated Chinese Famicom cartridge was distributed, containing an edited version of The Flintstones: The Rescue of Dino and Hoppy game called “GRAND DAD 3M ” (the latter translated to “Primitive Mario 7”). It is also known that it had at some point arrived in the Russian Federation as an “official” Dendy game called “Super Mario 7.”
